Nekked

I gotta be real with y’all – there’s nothing I love more than being naked.

I like the breeziness, the sensual allure of exposing my body to the elements. It’s beautiful. Makes me feel good.

Catch me twirling on my balcony on a good day.

Yet, our skin is only a shell, a temple that holds the most private pieces of our soul. It holds character, life experience, secrets.

I’ve often wrestled with trying to protect these most inner parts of my human self, while also balancing and inviting all capacities of the human experience including emotional relativity.

As a woman, I feel the most emotionally “nekked,” when I take off my social mask, the one I’ve painted so intricately for the world to see. It’s when I let go of the pretense and reveal my true nature, my utmost fantasies, and imperfections – total self acceptance. My selfie.

I question if it’s safe to share even when there is no guarantee of reciprocation. I ask again, is that honorable or idiotic? To allow you in. Are you worthy of that?

I don’t believe everyone is worthy, no, but I have become even more accepting of the fact that people have the right to choose not to meet or agree with my needs and beliefs, and will sometimes even find it high risk to even share with me their own…and that’s okay. I like to deep dive, I do, but I can’t expect everyone to dive with me.

Vulnerability is a strip tease, permissible at your favor. How much will you bare?

If you trust me, I’ll dance with you…but how far will you go? With your permission.

In that exploration, there’s the potential for magic – the kind of connection that transcends the physical. I’ve always been intrigued by this degree of the human experience.

Vulnerability is sweet. It is a necessary part of falling in love and being loved — in and beyond romance. And whether you receive what you anticipate or not from what you bare, you come to find out that you are STILL worthy. Booty out and all. Lol!

Vulnerability is driven by courage, self-love and inner strength. Yet, it’s often feared. We anticipate rejection. We guard guard guard until our skin turns to steel. Impenetrable. I get it.

But I think this is why the necessary questions that need to be asked are never asked until it is far too late. They are the questions that help to reveal, that help us to see each other.

Invite curiosity…and discover.

What brought you here?

What happens when we explore the depths of our souls together? What kind of spaces can we create. Maybe we’ll find the kind of love and acceptance that transcends physical pleasure and goes straight to the heart. The kind of experiences that leave you wanting more and more.
